Evidence and wound dressings

Advanced wound dressings have been regularly criticised for the lack of supportive evidence.  Now help is at hand.  A recent publication in the British Journal of Surgery, Brolmann et al, 2013. Randomized clinical trial of donor-site wound dressings after split-skin grafting. demonstrates faster time to healing and a lower infection rate of an advanced wound dressing (hydrocolloid) when compared to gauze.
